Preschool Social Skills Groups

Our Preschool Social Skills Groups target the development of each child's social communication skills.

We ask parents to complete a form indicating the areas that their child is most needing support.  This enables us to form groups for children with similar needs.  Some of the areas covered include:

  • Body Language - eye contact, facial expression, gesture, distance, touch and personal experience
  • How we talk -  volume, rate, clarity, intonation and fluency
  • Conversation - Listening, starting a conversation, taking turns, asking and answering questions, repairing and ending a conversation
  • Assertiveness - Expressing feelings, standing up for yourself, inappropriate refusals, handling rejections, apologising and requesting to join in.

The groups are held on a term basis and run for 1 hour per week.  We have two speech pathologists running each group.

If you would like to enrol your child in one of our preschool social skills groups please complete the form or contact us for more information.
